Bridge House Bed & Breakfast offers comfortable and welcoming accommodation. We have just two guest rooms which can be booked for couples, singles or families. £60 for single occupancy, £80 for double, £95 for 2 adults plus child. Discounts for 3 or more nights’ stay.

The house, two beautifully restored Victorian cottages in Hexham’s conservation area, sits atop a large, sloping garden offering dramatic views across the Cockshaw Burn from guest room windows. It is only a 6 minute walk from the house through the Sele Park to the heart of Hexham – its market place and centuries old Abbey.

Guests have use of the sitting room, free Wi-Fi, and a television in each bedroom. Breakfast is served in the large farmhouse kitchen. Free parking is usually available on the streets close by, and always available in the nearby car park only 50 metres away. We offer secure storage for bicycles on-site.

Bridge House is located very conveniently for attending weddings or parties at the nearby Winter Garden, Hexham House and Hexham Abbey. We even have a hairdressers salon opposite the house we can highly recommend for those who would like to have their hair done on the day. Whispers can be contacted on 01434 605179.

Hexham boasts a number of events – from Spook Night and the Christmas Craft Market, to an arts venue with a 10-day long book festival, drama, film & music events. Hexham is attractive for walkers and cyclists – with Hadrian’s Wall, the Pennine Journey, Hadrian’s 72 & the Sandstone Way all close by. We are members of Heart of Hadrian’s Wall Tourism Association

Breakfast is generally served between 7.30 and 9.00 am.

Our food is sourced from local farms, with sausages and bacon from Ravensworth Grange, eggs from The Paddock at High Spen,  Bowershield, Bardon Mill or Askerton Castle, and real breads from Powburn, Zen Bakery or made at Bridge House. The organic marmalade is home-made at Bridge House.

We use fairly-traded teas and coffees.

We offer a fruit salad each morning of fresh seasonal or winter dried fruits served with Greek yogurt, organic muesli or porridge. If you are travelling with children, our American pancakes with fruit and maple syrup are particularly popular.

Much of our organic fruit and vegetables are supplied from The Paddock Farm Shop, in High Spen, NE39 2EL which focuses on organic, local produce with a zero waste ethos.

We offer two spacious bedrooms: The Green Room has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with level-access shower; the Blue Room has a double bed and a single bed with a family-sized bathroom and shower adjacent. Both rooms have a television, hairdryer, tea trays and free unlimited Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are supplied with toiletries. We aim to be baby and child-friendly and have a travel cot, a booster seat, books and games available.

Our beds have supremely comfortable mattresses of natural materials, and we provide cotton linens, natural down duvets and a choice of hypo-allergenic or feather & down pillows. Both rooms have tea & coffee making facilities.

Guests may use the downstairs sitting-room, adjacent to the breakfasting kitchen. There is a mud room/drying room for walkers’ boots and clothing.

Single occupancy – £60/night. Double occupancy – £80/night. Family of 3 – £95/night. Discounts for 3 or more nights’ stay.

Check-in is from 3pm ‘til 10pm or by arrangement. Check-out is at 10am.
